The inspiring story of a Japanese man (Kōnosuke Matsushita) Panasonic Story

Kōnosuke Matsushita

The inspiring story of a Japanese man who founded a company that no one believed in, this is a true story. This story is about a Japanese man. He was born in a small village in Japan. His family was very poor as they lived in a very small house, his family couldn't provide enough to continue his education at the age of nine. He left school. He started working in a small shop to support his family from cleaning the store to taking care of his employer's children. He did all the dirty works, but still the money wasn't enough to support his family.

Soon, he got a job in an electricity company where he saw people working with bulbs and electrical sockets. He used to study how all the workers worked in that factory when all the workers left for home. He experimented with the scrap parts and lights to learn new things.

One day he invented a new kind of light socket. He did it all on his own. He was so excited to show the socket to his employer the next morning, but his exact moment was ruined by his employer. His boss told him that this new idea will never work in the market. They even made a mockery of his invention. But he didn't give up. He believed that he could make it work. He wanted to leave his job at that moment and start his own company, but he didn't have enough money. He asked his friends to lend him some money, but none of them believed in his plans. He couldn't leave his permanent job at that moment because he had no experience or education in business. And without money, nothing would work out. But he didn't stop believing in himself. He worked at the same job until he was 22. By then, he had saved a few bucks to follow his own dreams. He left his job and started his own company. His wife helped him manufacture the light sockets. They did the whole process from their small house. They kept producing the sockets, but all in vain. No one was ordering their items. He offered his light sockets to multiple distributors, but none of them wanted to use his sockets.
You may be a well-educated, clever and virtuous person, but those qualities will not necessarily make you a successful businessman. You must give your best to each and every task you take on, and reflect on your performance with an honest and unprejudiced eye.

Months passed by and everything seemed hopeless. He sold his wife's belongings and pieces of furniture from the house just to meet the expenses, since he had neither a job nor any sales of his product. He borrowed some money to keep the house running. But still, there was no order, he had made up his mind that he would go back to his previous job. He went on the streets for the last time. He had his product in his hands, he went from one shop to another in hopes to launch his product in the market, but all in vain, he came back home hopelessly. He had lost his fight as he decided to look for a job again.

Gratitude leads to happiness. Conversely, lack of gratitude is the curse of the unhappy.

That's when the miracle happened, when all seemed hopeless. He received his first order. It was a major order of 1000 pieces. This is a true story. That man has sold more than a million pieces since those 1000 pieces. And it has been 100 years since then, though his company has 250000 employees and a sale of 65 billion dollars yearly.

Do you know who that man is? His name is Kōnosuke Matsushita and his company is Panasonic. Now, just imagine, what if he gave up after the mockery his employer made? What if he gave up after his friends told him that his idea wouldn't work? There will be a lot of people who will not believe in your plans.

 Message Of Story

There will be a lot of doubters in your life all the time. And that is not a problem. As long as you have faith in yourself and you trust yourself, it is OK. Eventually you will make something work for you. Never give up.
